smoke on the water.(jon) lyrics

What is the best way to SHOW and TEACH others what you have learned about your piece though the video? It's up to YOU to come up with what makes the most sense.

Well I was thinking that maybe it would be a good idea to have the song playing in the background and have pictures of the band and maybe pictures of the actual mobile recording studio. I found some awosome pictures of the studio I'll post the link on the resource page. Dont worry I'll have more ideas later on so this is not it! -Ana Leanos-

This is the BEST picture ever:

Humo En El Agua (Smoke on The Water)

I downloaded the song off of iTunes and it's probably one of the funniest things I've ever heard. Seriously.

The following was simply the assignment, and should only be used as a STARTING POINT, or for reference.

The following points were decided upon as a class, and are used as a basis for which to conduct research about the song. Please note, that it is expected that the students will go above and beyond the following points, and only use these as a starting point. The findings will determine what is ultimately included in the final product.

The format of the research paper is a five (or more)-paragraph essay. Papers not written in this format will be given zero credit and the student will be expected to resubmit the paper in the correct format.

Background of the song: This song was written after the band was in Montreux, Switzerland recording thier album in the mobile Rolling Stones recording studio. Nearby there was a concert going on in a casino nearby. During the concert someone decided to shoot a flare gun starting the place on fire. One of the band members came up with the name several days later.
When it was written
Purpose it served (Was it written for a specific reason? Protest? Fun? Love? etc.) The song was written to tell people about the event.
Effect on society, or how society affected it.
Lyrics - The lyrics basically just describe the event.

Who wrote it?
Who performed it?
Who was the most popular?
Were there different styles?

World/political events at the time. Nixon was reelected and later resigned after the watergate incident.
